Ford F-150 Hoover

Start thinking about what you want from your Ford F-150 to get a better idea of which model will be right for you. There are six trim levels to select from, but you will also be able to choose from three truck bed lengths, three cabin styles, and four engines, making the decision-making process a bit more complicated. Start by figuring out which features you want and how the various models line up with your needs.

Ford F-150 XL

The Ford F-150 XL may be the base trim, but it still has some great features, like the 40/20/40 front bench seat, automatic headlights, pre-wired trailer connections, and trailer sway control. You also get a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, air conditioning, a 2.3-inch driver information screen, a 4.2-inch central display, auxiliary input, Bluetooth, and 60/40 rear seats when applicable.

The 101A Package is a popular addition with power locks and windows, power mirrors, cargo management, remote keyless entry, MyKey, cruise control, SYNC with voice controls, a USB port, CD player, smartphone app integration, and a 4.2-inch driver information screen. You can also add an appearance package, a range of standalone options, or an FX Off-Road Package with things like underbody skid plates, hill descent control, and off-road shocks.

Ford F-150 XLT

The F-150 XLT builds on the XL with the 101A Package but has its own unique exterior styling. It also adds rear privacy glass, fog lights, 4-way adjustable headrests, manual front lumbar adjustment, and extra interior storage. There is a range of available packages, including a Mid 301A and Luxury 302A Package. The second of these upgrades to SYNC3 with its 8-inch touchscreen and adds LED bed lighting, rear parking sensors, 10-way power adjustment and heating for the front seats, remote ignition, and more.

Ford F-150 Lariat

The 2016 F-150 Lariat will give you everything on the XLT with the 302A Package along with front tow hooks, 18-inch wheels, puddle lamps, and power-folding mirrors. Inside, you get dual-zone automatic climate control, leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, an 8-inch driver info screen, keyless ignition plus entry, and driver seat memory. There are even more options and packages for this model, including the 502A Package with things like 11 speakers of Sony sound and a remote tailgate release. You can also add standalone safety features.

Ford F-150 King Ranch

The King Ranch trim has Western styling plus luxuries like heated rear seats and an integrated trailer brake controller. There are also many of the features mentioned above as standard.

Ford F-150 Platinum

The Platinum is the traditional luxury trim for the Ford F-150 with 20-inch wheels, aluminum interior trim, and power-deployable running boards.

Ford F-150 Limited

The new Limited trim has unique styling, a large majority of the convenience options, and 22-inch wheels.
