Race Details
The Just A Call Away 5K and Fun Run welcomes runners of all ages and abilities. You can opt for a chip timer for the 5K if you want to add a competitive spark. You can create or join an existing fundraising team, or simply take the distance solo at a comfortable pace, enjoying the sights of the historic downtown Birmingham route. Strollers and pets are welcome, so this race is good for the whole family. The Fun Run covers 1 mile around Sloss Furnaces and is not a timed event.
Register online before August 6 to guarantee your T-shirt. From July 30 through race day, registration costs $35 for the 5K and $20 for the Fun Run. Pre-race packet pickup will be on Friday, August 16, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Trak Shak in Homewood (2839 18th Street South).
On race day, late registration and packet pickup begin at 6:30 a.m. The 5K kicks off at 8 a.m., with the Fun Run following at 9 a.m. The post-race awards ceremony will recognize 5K winners in the following categories: top 3 males and females overall, top 3 males and females in each age group, fastest team, and largest team.
