If you like your food spicy – you’re in luck! There are a ton of Cajun food restaurants in the Hoover, Alabama area that are definitely worth checking out. You’ll find everything from po-boys to crawfish enchiladas at these Bayou-themed hot spots. Here are just a few of our favorite destinations when we’ve got a craving for Cajun!

The Cajun Steamer – 180 Main St Ste 200 Hoover, AL 35244

The Cajun Steamer is tucked away in the Patton Creek Shopping Center directly behind the Riverchase Galleria. They’re open every day for lunch and dinner from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Some of our favorite fare from this restaurant are the crawfish enchiladas, and especially the Voodoo Chicken. This dish includes grilled chicken with caramelized onions, bacon and a crawfish cream sauce over rice.

Cajun Steamer also features raw, chargrilled and fried oysters along with a full bar. There’s live entertainment weekly out on their famous patio and a wide variety of bottled and draft beers to enjoy.

Jubilee Joe’s – 2341 John Hawkins Pkwy Ste 119 Hoover, AL 35244

Jubilee Joe’s is a local favorite that’s become famous over the years for not only its delicious Cajun cuisine, but also the Crawfish Boil they put on every year. The signature items at Jubilee Joe’s are Kash’s Boiling Pots which combine various combinations of Cajun seasoned oysters, shrimp, crab and other delicacies into one steaming pot.

You can take your pick from a huge selection of other Cajun delicacies from Jubilee Joe’s. The Cajun Seafood House – 2531 Rocky Ridge Rd Ste 107 Vestavia Hills, AL 35243

Locals rave about the fried green tomatoes at The Cajun Seafood House. It’s just one of the Cajun offerings from this locally owned and operated restaurant that opened in 2014. There’s also a great selection of microbrews available from the bar with happy hour specials available from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday through Friday.

The Cajun Seafood House is open for lunch and dinner Monday through Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 pm, Friday and Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., and on Sundays from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Crazy Cajuns Boiling Pot – 125 Inverness Plz Birmingham, AL 35242

They advertise themselves as offering “the best and only authentic Cajun cuisine.” We can neither confirm nor deny that, but what we can say is this: the food is plentiful and excellent! Seafood gumbo and crawfish served in a variety of ways are what Crazy Cajuns Boiling Pot is best known for. There is also a large selection of mouth-watering Po-Boys on the menu. Hours are of operation are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and Friday through Saturday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
