The Alabaster CityFest is one of the best things that has ever happened to free fun. Fun lovers will not have to spend anything on entrance and parking fees while they are promised quality fun free of charge! The Alabaster CityFest delivers a day full of various genres of music, children’ activities, an assortment of vendors to purchase various things from and so much more. The festival is held at the Alabaster Municipal Park which is situated between Thompson Middle School and Thompson High School. Crowds are usually large, hosting at least 75,000 guests. So be sure to head out to the event early on June 3rd!
Alabaster CityFest: Activities for Children
The Alabaster KidsFest has children’s activities happening throughout the day. These include performance shows like the Spectacular Science and Marvelous Magic show, WorkPlay Rock School The Flying K-9s dog show and other shows. Hands-on arts and crafts and Lowe’s Build-It Workshop actively engage the kids. Inflatables rides are open from 9 a.m and 6 p.m and are free for kids to ride. Horseback riding and bungee jumping activities, however, come at a fee.
Alabaster CityFest: The 5k Fun Run
The 5k Fun Run will take place at the Larry Simmons Stadium behind Thompson Intermediate School. Registration takes place at the Thompson Intermediate School gym, on 10019 Highway 119. The charges are $35 for adults, $25 for children aged 12 to 17 and $20 for anyone age 11 and younger.
Alabaster CityFest: Where to Park
There are a couple of parking lots which are usually filled in a systemic order. The parking lots are as follows;
– Thompson High School football stadium
– Publix
There will be free shuttles commuting to and from the parking lots to the festival site starting with Thompson High School from 8:45 a.m to the site of the festival throughout the day until the festival comes to a close. During previous events, the shuttles have at times not been picking up festival goers from the public parking lot.
Free and fun as it is, there are however festival rules which are laid down for all of the guests who come to the event. The festival does not allow coolers or pets. Smoking within the park or carrying in alcoholic beverages is also prohibited. The visitors are however encouraged to bring chairs or blankets. Tents and umbrellas are allowed for shade when the sun is high. However, these have to be pulled down before the main stage concerts commence.
